BREAKING: Kwara students protest over unpaid bursaries

 Success Nwogu, Ilorin

Scores of members of National Association of Kwara Students are currently protesting over alleged unpaid bursaries.

The students on Wednesday matched from Post Office Junction through Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin, the state capital, and passed the head offices of the Kwara Commands of Nigerian Police Force and Department of State Services.

They thereafter laid barricade on the left side of the Ahmadu Bello Way around Kwara Hotel complex.

There had been heavy deployment of armed security operatives along Ahmadu Bello Way ostensibly to prevent the peaceful protest from degenerating into violence and lawlessness.

On the request of some security operatives, 20 delegates of the students had gone to meet with the governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, for discussions.
