Oyo redeploys 2,000 graduate teachers


No fewer than 2,000 graduates who are primary school teachers will be redeployed to Secondary Schools in Oyo state.

This is part of the ongoing schools’ reform by the state government .

 The fresh redeployment is coming following government’s commitment to the implementation of the white paper on a committee of stakeholders inaugurated on July 12th in the wake of protests in May over alleged plans by the government to sell schools.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in the state, Professor Joseph Adeniyi Olowofela in an interview with journalists on Wednesday disclosed that the government had concluded plans to redeploy 2,000 primary school teachers to secondary schools.

The Commissioner revealed that the objective was to optimize output and ensure efficiency in the education sector in the state.

He explained that the fresh redeployment would affect all the state primary and secondary schools.
