Oyo Abductors: ‘We Only Want to Talk to Governor Makinde’ — Oyo Kidnappers

According to a report by Punch on Saturday, May 23, 2026, suspected terrorists who abducted pupils and teachers from three schools in Esinele, Yamota and Alawusa communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have reportedly opened communication with the Oyo State Government. Sources familiar with the development disclosed that the abductors declined to negotiate with families of the victims, insisting on direct engagement with Governor Seyi Makinde.

“They said they only want to talk to the governor and nobody else. That was the condition they gave for negotiation. So, nobody knows the details and what they are demanding,” a source said.
