BREAKING: US Says Iran’s Enriched Uranium Will Eventually Be Removed Amid Ongoing Nuclear Tensions

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that Washington will eventually secure the removal of Iran’s highly enriched uranium despite Tehran’s resistance to ongoing negotiations over its nuclear programme. According to a report published by Reuters on May 22, 2026, Rubio said the United States had made “some progress” in talks with Iran but noted that major disagreements still remain unresolved.

Reuters reported that Rubio stressed the United States remains committed to ensuring that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons, adding that discussions over Iran’s uranium enrichment activities and stockpile remain central to the negotiations.
