Adam was paraded alongside other suspects at the state police command on Friday, September 6, where he confessed to abducting two minors, a boy and girl, and demanding a ransom of N20 million, which was later negotiated to N1.5 million.

In a remorseful tone, Adam claimed that this was his first time engaging in kidnapping and begged for leniency. “I kidnapped two teenagers and held them in an uncompleted building. After collecting the N1.5 million as ransom, I was on my way to release the victims and hand them over to their relatives when suddenly people apprehended me,” he said.

Adam further expressed his regret, stating, “This is my first time of committing kidnapping. I beg the government to please show mercy on me. It was a mistake and I promise I will never do it again. I am pleading with the government.”

Adam’s plea for mercy comes after he was caught by residents who foiled his plan to release the victims after collecting the ransom.
