In response to the viral, manipulated videos, Okonkwo clarified his stance, stating, “I’m not hiding anything. If I wanted to join APC, everyone would know.” He firmly denounced the APC, describing its members as “thieves, insensitive, and criminals who don’t care about the country.”
Okonkwo added that he left APC due to these issues and would only consider returning if they drastically changed their system, as he is dedicated to the vision of a ‘New Nigeria.’
Okonkwo also expressed disappointment with Julius Abure for hosting an unrecognized party convention, swearing himself and some loyalists in after his tenure had expired. He labeled Abure’s actions as “shameless” and an insult to the six million people who voted for them last year.
