Speaking about Onyeka’s exit, Brentford boss, Thomas Frank revealed the Nigerian was not satisfied with being a second option and needed to leave the club to achieve his goal.

“Frank wants to play week in, week out as a starter; this is a good opportunity for him to do that. He has been a big part of our success, and I can’t praise him enough for that in every aspect,” the Danish manager said as revealed on Brentford’s official website.

Brentford could find themselves in tumultuous waters this season as they have a very thin squad. Following Onyeka’s exit, the Bees have less options in the middle of the park, and with Toney heading to Saudi Arabia, his replacement, Thiago Rodrigues is injured and will only return in December.
