An aide to the governor of Delta state, Ossai Success Ovie, has expressed his displeasure at singer Rema for gifting his home church, N105 million. In a post shared on Facebook today September 2, Ossai argued that it is disappointing that Rema gave money to his church instead of giving his life to God. According to Ossai, the best gift anyone can give to God is to surrender to him in devotion and service. He wrote;

It will be disappointing to God for anyone to give money to his church without being born again .

While Rema’s N105m donation to Christ Embassy is a commendable gesture, it would be spiritually futile if he hasn’t surrendered his life to God.

Giving to the church without being born again may not resonate with God, as He desires our hearts and souls, not just our wealth.

I applaud Rema’s generosity and willingness to support the gospel, but I hope he recognizes the eternal significance of surrendering his life to God.

The talents and resources God bestows upon us are meant to be used for His glory and to win souls for His kingdom.

With the kingdom of darkness actively seeking to claim souls, it’s crucial we utilize every opportunity and gift to bring people to God.
