Netanyahu’s lawyer said in a court filing on Friday that the prime minister would be unable to testify when proceedings resume on Sunday. The trial had been scheduled to continue after Israel lifted a state of emergency imposed during its war with Iran (Iran), following a ceasefire announcement earlier this week.

The filing stated that the defense team was prepared to continue with the testimony of a prosecution witness, but requested a delay in Netanyahu’s own appearance on the stand.
