In a recent video shared on Facebook on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Niger Delta activist and traditional ruler, Asari Dokubo, spoke about governance and infrastructure development in Rivers State, particularly praising projects benefiting the Kalabari people.
Dokubo highlighted recent road construction and rehabilitation efforts, noting that improved infrastructure has made movement easier for residents and boosted economic activities across Kalabari communities. He emphasized that such developments have long-term benefits for connectivity and regional growth.
According to Dokubo, “If there is anyone the Kalabari people should honour, like it or not, it is Siminalayi Fubara.” He made the statement while commending Governor Siminalayi Fubara for what he described as visible progress in road development and attention to the needs of the Kalabari people.

The activist also noted that development initiatives in the region should be encouraged regardless of political differences. He suggested that recognition should be given where progress is evident, particularly when communities directly benefit from government projects.
Dokubo concluded by urging continued support for development efforts in Rivers State. He maintained that infrastructure improvement remains key to economic growth and better living standards for the Kalabari people and other communities in the Niger Delta.
