JUST IN: Female Lawyer Remanded In Custody Over False Information Against Female Prosecutor

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Barrister Obiora, while the Court was in session, alleged the prosecutor, Inspector Adesulu, to have collected N200,000 bribe from one Clara Onyeagba, which turned out to be false.

The matter was reported to the Police at Ojo Division. The lawyer was arrested and detained for interrogation over her allegation.

She was consequently charged before the Ojo Magistrate Court and remanded in custody on a two-count charge of conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and false information.

She risks imprisonment if found guilty as the alleged offence contravened Sections 96(b) and 168 of the Criminal code, 2015.

However, she pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Dr. Simon Uche, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.M. Alade, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.

The matter was adjourned till 14th August, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.>>>CONTINUE FULL READING HERE
