Sowore Reacts After It Was Reported That Court Has Stopped The #FreeNnamdiKanu Protest In Aso Rock

Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has taken to his official X account to react after it was reported that court has stopped the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest that has been scheduled to hold in Aso Rock.

According to PUNCH, Federal High Court in Abuja has granted an interim injunction restraining human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore and others from organizing or participating in the planned October 20 protest calling for the release of the detained Nnamdi Kanu.

Reacting, Omoyele Sowore stated that the court has no stopped the protest from holding. The former presidential candidate said Justice Umar of the Federal High Court declined to issue any ex parte order that was sought by the police to halt the nationwide protest.

Omoyele Sowore said the claim has been designed to confuse the general public. He said nothing has changed. Omoyele Sowore stated that the protest will still hold on Monday, October 20, 2025.

According to Omoyele Sowore on his official X account;

“Contrary to the misleading claims being circulated by police lawyers and sections of the media, no order was granted restraining citizens from exercising their constitutional right to peaceful assembly”.
