In an interview with Arise News from 10:45, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), addressed rumors surrounding his relationship with his former Deputy, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State. Kwankwaso reflected on their past working relationship, highlighting how he supported Ganduje’s political career, including appointing him as his deputy governor from 1999 to 2003 and later as his Special Adviser in the Ministry of Defence. He also mentioned helping Ganduje secure a job in the Chad Basin Development Authority during the Yar’dua administration.

The former governor emphasized that he has successfully completed his assignment in Kano and has no interest in perpetuating political conflicts. Instead, he advocated for unity and moving forward, leaving past differences behind.

“I’m not the Governor of Kano, I’m just the leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party and as a matter of principle, I don’t have enemy, I don’t believe that I’ve anybody to fight especially in politics of Kano.

This person you mentioned was by deputy governor in 1999 to 2003 and my Special Adviser in the Ministry of defence and when Yar’dua came in 2007, I lobbied and got a job for him in Chad basin and he was there when I got ticket in 2011 and I invited him to come back and be my deputy again and when I finished, I decied with other leaders in Kano to handle over the mantle of leadership to him free if charge.
