“Kama ni kifo wacha tukufe, sisi sio wezi, hatutoki kwa streets tunapigania nchi yetu,” a peaceful protester told Ghetto radio journalist.

According to him, he only wants the president to listen to the youths of Kenya and provide accountability of his government to the public. Like many other Kenyan youths, he is frustrated by issues of corruption and bad governance.

Tension continued to be witnessed on the streets as police officers threw teargas canisters at peaceful protesters. Several demonstrators are alleged to have been shot by police officers in the Nairobi CBD.

Following the ongoing trends of Tuesday Gen Z protests, several businesses have been shut down as many feared cases of insecurity and looting of property.

The Gen Z protest has resulted into a number of changes in the Ruto government which has seen the president dissolve his cabinet secretaries last week followed by the resignation of former Inspector General of police Japheth Koome.

The ongoing protests have been heightened by the recent Kware murder cases, where citizens believe that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is not revealing the truth to Kenyans about the arrest of the prime murder suspect, Collins Khalisia.
