Reactions As Obi Was Spotted Holding Sommie’s Father While He Was Trying To Pour Sand On Her Grave

There have been several reactions from social media users after the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi was spotted holding the hand of the father of Arise News presenter, Somtochukwu Christelle Madiagwu popularly known as Sommie.

The photo was contained in a post that Arise News presenter, Rufai Oseni shared on his official X handle on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The moment was captured at the burial ceremony of Sommie in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

This is coming after Somtochukwu Christelle Madiagwu died during an armed robbery operation that was carried out at her residence in FCT.

According to PUNCH, the former governor of Anambra state joined her family members, friends and several other dignitaries at the event.

However, in the photo that surfaced online, Peter Obi was seen holding Sommie’s father while he was trying to pour sand on her grave.
