Wike: We See His Braggado, He Comes To Public To Speak About How He Fought This And That — Udugbai
In a recent interview posted by Symfoni TV, Edo State PDP chieftain, Hon. Shedrach Udugbai, condemned the attitude of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accusing him of arrogance and self-praise.
Udugbai said Wike’s frequent public boasts about his political battles and influence reflect a lack of character and integrity, which he described as dangerous traits for anyone in leadership.
Udugbai stated that Nigeria’s current political decay is not due to the absence of intelligent or ambitious politicians but rather because many lack integrity and moral restraint.
He argued that character serves as the anchor for justice, fairness, and equity, warning that without it, power becomes unpredictable and destructive. According to Udugbai, politicians without integrity often manipulate governance for personal gain while undermining public trust.
He described Wike as one of such figures who has contributed to weakening the Peoples Democratic Party by silencing dissenting voices and promoting personal glory over party unity. Udugbai criticized Wike’s approach to governance, saying that his showmanship and political grandstanding overshadow true development.
He questioned the transparency of projects done in the FCT by Wike, alleging reckless spending where costs were inflated without delivering real value. Udugbai insisted that such behavior should not be celebrated, as it undermines accountability.
In his words, “Now this character is what we see in characters like Nyesom Wike, who had been a tool in the destruction of the Peoples Democratic Party, practically holding the opposition bound, ensuring that there’s no opposition voice or dissenting voice in Nigerian democracy.”
“We see his braggado, a man comes into public domain and begins to speak about how he has fought this and how he has fought that, as though good governance is only about political infighting and imbroglio.”
