He said the law, specifically Section 109(1)(g) of the Nigerian Constitution, states that if a member of a State House of Assembly leaves the party through which they were elected for another party, they lose their seat.
In a report recently shared by The Sun, Nwanyanwu said former Governor Nyesom Wike once stated that if you are elected under one party’s platform as a lawmaker, you cannot switch to another party and keep your seat. He urged everyone to stop being pretentious about this issue and follow the law as it stands
