A Nigerian woman, Eunice Bright, has shared a troubling story about the birth of her twins, raising serious questions about what truly happened in the hospital where she delivered.
Eunice and her husband recently appeared on the human rights radio programme Brekete Family to narrate their experience and seek justice.
According to Eunice, during her pregnancy doctors consistently told her that she was expecting twins. She attended regular antenatal check-ups and said there were no complications reported throughout the pregnancy.
She had previously delivered through Caesarean section, hence doctors recommended another operation. However, on the day of the surgery, the couple said they were told that their regular doctor, who had been seeing her during her antenatal, was not available.
She explained that shortly before the operation, hospital staff suddenly informed her that one of the babies was sick, which surprised her because none of her previous check-ups had shown any problem.
After the surgery, the family said they were given only one baby. Hospital workers allegedly told them that the second baby had died during the operation. Eunice said she requested to see the body of the baby but claimed the hospital did not provide it.
Months later, the situation took a shocking turn. During a visit to another hospital, Eunice said she saw a doctor’s wife carrying two babies. According to her, one of the babies looked strikingly similar to the child she delivered.
This discovery led to a confrontation that later involved the police and local vigilantes, with accusations and counter-accusations from both sides. The couple has since taken the matter further by involving legal authorities and requesting DNA tests to determine the truth. Their lawyer is now pushing for a full investigation so the family can finally know what truly happened to the second baby they were expecting.
