Folakemi Ogunsusi, a 28 years old orphan who’s an undergraduate at the National Open University, studying International Relations while in her way to becoming a diplomat or an expert in international, during an interview with The News Central TV correspondent, has narrated how she was raped.
Narrating the ugly incident during the interview (Between 2:00-04:50 minute), she said, “That day was the first time we were going to encounter each other, and he said he does graphic design and logos. I said okay, that’s fine, I’ve been looking for someone to help me with my logo, so I gave him the job. It was really good, and I paid him. I referred more people to him.
“Then I called him, ‘Daddy Dala, please, I need this job.’ He said he wasn’t done with it. I told him it had been over a month and a half and it still wasn’t finished, and it’s not as if I owed him any money. I told him okay, let’s meet at the junction. He said no, he wasn’t done, and I should come over to his house. I said okay.
“At first, when I went there, I didn’t really have any expectations…maybe he was going to do anything or something. When he saw my attitude and body language, he asked why I was hurry. I said I had given him this job a while ago. He asked if I would take anything; I said I wasn’t taking anything. He said I was still angry, went out, and brought food. I said okay, and to tell you the truth, I wasn’t hungry, but I took it. I took it halfway.
“Not even ten minutes in, my whole body system felt strange. I told him I felt like sleeping and just wanted to go home. That was the last thing I remembered.
“But as he was trying to have sex with me, I could not shout. I felt it, even though I wasn’t totally unconscious. I felt someone was doing something with me. I tried to push, but I was weak. I just got home that day, and it was a struggle to get there. I went home, slept off, and the next morning, nothing had happened further.
“I called him, and he denied it. He said maybe I was imagining it, that nothing had happened. He insisted that nothing had happened.
“A month later, I found out I was pregnant. I told him, ‘See, I’m pregnant, and you know I’m in a relationship, right?’ He said, ‘Go and do what your mate is doing.’ I asked him what he meant. He said he was not responsible and that I should get rid of the child.”
