An elder statesman and member of the Rivers State Elders and Leaders Forum, Anabs, criticized former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi in a video shared on Symfoni.
Sara-Igbe argued that Amaechi’s previous actions in office, particularly his handling of appointments and federal projects affecting Rivers State and the Niger Delta, have left a lasting impact on public perception.
He also expressed concern that, if Amaechi were to attain the presidency, similar patterns of governance would continue, potentially harming the interests of the Niger Delta region.
The elder statesman urged political leaders to prioritize accountability and equitable development, emphasizing that voters must consider past records before offering support.
According to him, “So many people will not go to ADC in Rivers State because of Amaechi. ADC would have been an alternative platform, but we can’t go to ADC with Amaechi there. I have to be very frank; I don’t hate him, but that is the truth. He knows what I’m talking about; he knows what I’m talking about—that I, Anabs Sara-Igbe, will not support him because of what he did, and if today he becomes president, he’ll do worse to the Niger Delta.”
