Charles Inojie, a veteran Nollywood actor, has spoken about his friend late John Okafor, a Nollywood actor popularly known as Mr Ibu.
In an interview on the popular show Curiosity Made Me Ask, Charles Inojie said Mr Ibu has a unique way of addressing his close friends. He said the nickname Mr Ibu often gave his friends was “Idiot.”
Inojie said that on his wedding day, Ibu walked into the venue with other guests and immediately called him ‘idiot’ from afar, telling him to come over and meet him. He said they often called each other ‘idiot’ as a friendly joke
In Inojie’s words: “John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, anybody that is his friend he has a sobriquet for that person and that sobriquet is Idiot. If Mr Ibu walks in here now he will say to me, ‘Idiot what are you doing’. On my wedding day he just walked inside and said to me ‘Idiot, come I am here’. That is him and that is how we called ourselves”
