In a recent interview on TV7 Israel News, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid addressed the intensifying hostilities between Israel and Iran, emphasizing the deliberate targeting of civilians by Tehran’s regime and the strategic necessity of Israel’s ongoing military operations alongside the United States.
During the interview, Lapid visited neighborhoods recently struck by Iranian ballistic missiles, including areas in Yehud, Holon, and Bahrain, where civilian casualties and damage have underscored the human cost of the conflict. Highlighting the deliberate nature of Iran’s attacks, he stated, “Do you see any military facilities around you? The Iranians are targeting civilians on purpose.”
Lapid stressed that Israel’s operations are aimed at neutralizing Iran’s missile and nuclear programs while defending its population. He characterized the campaign as both a moral and strategic imperative, contrasting Israel’s defensive measures with the Iranian regime’s indiscriminate aggression. According to Lapid, the regime seeks to escalate the conflict from conventional warfare into attacks on innocent civilians.
The opposition leader also highlighted close coordination with the United States, noting that joint strikes have targeted Iranian military infrastructure and leadership, including Revolutionary Guards command centers. Lapid warned that the campaign will continue until the Iranian threat is fully neutralized and urged the international community to recognize the severity of the threat posed by Tehran.
Lapid further stated that Israel’s determination remains unwavering and that the nation will continue to act decisively to protect civilians, uphold moral clarity, and defend democratic principles. He emphasized that confronting Iran is essential not only for national security but also to prevent further destabilization across the region and ensure long-term peace and safety.
