In an alert titled “ALERT: POTENTIAL NATIONWIDE PROTESTS,” published on its website, the US mission warns that based on historical events, the protests may entail:
– Roadblocks
– Checkpoints
– Traffic congestion
– Physical confrontations
However, the alert notes that specific times and locations for potential protests have not yet been announced.
Referencing from media reports, the US mission said the advised its citizens and others on precautions to take, saying these included monitor local media for updates, avoiding crowds and avoiding demonstrations.
It added: “Be aware of your surroundings, Review your personal security plans and keep your cell phone charged in case of emergency, Carry proper identification.
“The Consular Sections of Embassy Abuja and Consulate General Lagos will remain open during regular business hours and Consular services will be provided as scheduled”>>>CONTINUE FULL READING HERE
