A man on X sparked debate after questioning why women are made to kneel before their husbands during celebrations organized by those same husbands.
A viral video from a church program showed wives kneeling before their seated husbands as they were being celebrated.
Reacting, the man wrote: “You people that are supposedly being celebrated also knelt down happily, while the person that is celebrating you is sitting down? How cute.”
A female user replied: “Someone said marriage is a humiliation ritual for women… I wanted to get angry at first but when I think am well well I just mute.”
The post stirred mixed reactions, with many Nigerians questioning the culture that expects women to always kneel before men.
