The Secretary of the ADC Contact and Monitoring Committee in Rivers State, Chizy Enyi, has spoken about the recent attack on the convoy of former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi in Ikwerre Local Government Area, raising concerns over the silence of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
During an interview on Arise News, Enyi explained that Amaechi had always stressed that the main responsibility of any governor is to protect the lives and property of citizens and to respond quickly when security issues arise.
Enyi suggested that Fubara might be in a difficult political situation. According to him, the governor could face serious consequences if he makes any statement that goes against those supporting the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. He said such a move could lead to calls for a state of emergency in Rivers State. See More/Details
