JUST IN: If I Were Tinubu, Honestly And Sincerely, I Would Have Sacked The NSA Because He Has Failed — Modibo

Political analyst Ibrahim Modibo has called for major changes in Nigeria’s security leadership, including the removal of key officials, as part of efforts to address the country’s escalating security challenges. Modibo made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television on Friday, March 13, 2026, while discussing possible measures to strengthen the nation’s security framework.

Speaking during the programme, he said that if he were in the position of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he would begin by replacing the current National Security Adviser. “If I were President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, honestly and sincerely, first and foremost, I would have sacked the National Security Advisor because for very obvious reasons, he has failed,” Modibo said.

He argued that the broader security structure has not produced the expected results. “Even the security architecture itself has failed,” he added. Using an academic analogy, Modibo questioned the idea of retaining leadership despite repeated setbacks. “If somebody is failing exams, will he continue graduating up to the time that he reaches PhD? No. If he fails, let him go,” he said. See More/Details
