Sam Amadi, Professor of Law and Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, has raised questions about how political leaders evaluate the performance of key security officials in government.
Amadi made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television on Friday, March 13, 2026.
While discussing concerns surrounding Nigeria’s security leadership and the continued tenure of the National Security Adviser. During the programme, the discussion focused on whether the performance of security officials should be measured strictly by the country’s security outcomes.
Amadi said the public often assumes that presidents appoint officials primarily to deliver specific policy results, but suggested that political considerations may also influence how performance is judged. “You just talked about why is the National Security Adviser still being held?
