The protests are being held nationwide against bad governance and call for action following hunger and hardship in the country.
THE WHISTLER gathered that a stray bullet from a policeman near Yauri River killed the businessman in his shop in Yauri Local Government Area of the state.
An eyewitness, Malam Umar Bako Yelwa, who narrated what happened said the protest became violent when protesters blocked the federal highway in Yauri town.
He added that while marine police fired bullets to disperse the crowd, a stray bullet hit and killed the innocent plastic seller in his shop.
Another eyewitness however said “the police were shooting indiscriminately despite the peaceful procession by the protesters thereby killing an innocent man.”
The Kebbi State Police Command has not reacted to the development.
The development has not stopped protests in other parts of the state as they were seen chanting “end bad governance”, “bring back fuel subsidy” among others.
