Scarred by the treatment her parents received from church members, Damipe Adekoya has vowed never to marry a pastor, saying she cannot endure the kind of spiritual and emotional warfare her mother went through as a pastor’s wife.
She recalled how her father regularly risked his life for church members—driving a bleeding woman from hospital to hospital until she died, spending family resources on church needs, and prioritising the congregation over his own home—only to be repaid with betrayal when scandal hit.
