According to a report by Sahara TV, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Gen. Ishola Williams (Nigerian Army Ret.), former Chief of Defence Training and Planning, spoke about Nigeria’s security challenges and the ongoing debate surrounding the creation of state police.
During an interview, the retired military officer discussed the need for major reforms in the country’s security structure.
He said the growing insecurity across different parts of Nigeria has made many citizens and experts call for the establishment of state police to help improve local security operations.
