Europe: Mauro Icardi Set to Leave Galatasaray, Paving Way for Victor Osimhen to Become Solo Striking Star

Victor Osimhen is set to become Galatasaray’s sole top striker as Mauro Icardi is expected to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Icardi, who joined from PSG in 2023 for €10 million, has taken a backseat since Osimhen’s arrival two years ago, but has still contributed 15 goals and two assists in 37 appearances this season.

Icardi’s exit means Osimhen will face increased pressure to carry the bulk of the offensive load, as the club currently lacks another equally reliable goalscorer and faces financial difficulties that may prevent marquee signings. Osimhen has shared scoring responsibilities with Icardi this season, with Icardi actually scoring two more league goals, which has reduced scrutiny on the Nigerian. See More/Details
