BREAKING: NNPC Cannot Account For 210 Trillion Naira That Has Been Generated Through Our Oil & Gas Sector—Sara-Igbe

A Niger Delta leader, Sara-Igbe, has renewed calls for Nigeria’s restructuring, arguing that the current centralised control of resources has hindered development and accountability in the country’s oil and gas sector.

Speaking in a recent interview on SYMFONI TV, Sara-Igbe said Nigeria would benefit significantly if regions were allowed to control their resources and contribute taxes to the federal government, similar to the fiscal federalism practised in the early years after independence.

According to him, restructuring would promote competition among states and regions, encourage productivity, and reduce overreliance on monthly allocations from the federal government.

He explained that the current system forces many states to depend heavily on federal allocations rather than developing their own natural resources and economic strengths. See More/Details
