Chief Jumoke Ogunkeyede, an activist, has stated that when the late Head of State General Murtala Muhammed was killed, General Olusegun Obasanjo hid under the bed of SP Bakare
In an interview on the State Affairs show with Edmund Obilo, Ogunkeyede stated that Obasanjo remained under SP Bakare’s bed for more than six hours.
He said at a certain point SP Bakare told Obasanjo to come out from hiding. He said Bakare told Obasanjo that the people who were attempting to carryout the coup were his colleagues in the military so he should either confront them or join them
In Ogunkeyede’s words: “When Murtala was killed, General Obasanjo was hiding under SP Bakare’s bed. He was there for more than 6 hours. At a time SP Bakare said, ‘Come out, you can’t be a coward. It is your colleagues that are doing this and you can go there either to fight them or join them’. He could not come out” See More/Details
