Niger Delta elder and activist Anabs Sara-Igbe has voiced criticism over the decision of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint the head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) from outside the country’s oil-producing region.
Sara-Igbe shared his concerns in a video circulated by SYMFONI TV, stating that many people in the Niger Delta had anticipated that the leadership of the national oil company would be entrusted to someone from the region. According to him, this expectation was largely based on the fact that the Niger Delta accounts for the bulk of Nigeria’s crude oil and natural gas production. See More/Details
