According to report by LEADERSHIP on Sunday March 15 2026, Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has condemned the attack on Akpete/Asaba in Apa Local Government, calling it a terrorist strike on farmers. The assault left several dead, six missing, and a young girl abducted during cashew harvesting.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and directed security agencies to intensify operations in the area. He ordered them to track down the attackers, rescue the abducted girl, and locate those still missing.
Alia stressed that his administration remains committed to protecting lives and property across Benue State, assuring residents that no community will be abandoned to violence.
