According to report by The Nation on Sunday, March 15, 2026, Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa State and a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged party members to seek reconciliation in order to prevent any party conflicts and accept the caretaker committee associated with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Lamido praised Wike’s political acumen while speaking to reporters during a Ramadan Iftar in Bamaina, his hometown.
He pointed out that Wike took advantage of the party’s leadership vacuum after the National Working Committee (NWC) term ended. He added that Wike saw the need for a new party organization when the NWC’s term ended and deliberately formed a caretaker committee to fill the void.
Lamido emphasised the need of conversation, compromise, and inclusivity, acknowledging that some members may have concerns about Wike. No matter how much we disagree with him politically, we must remain united in the PDP and act as brothers. See More/Details…
