Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has shared a photo to prove that the way the Nigeria Police Force treat protesters is better than what is done by their counterparts in the UK. However, there have been some cases of teargas being fired to disperse protesters who went violent as reported in Kano, Kaduna and Katsina.
However, Omokri believes the force is nothing compared to what the UK police is dishing out to their citizens going on a protest against migrants following the stabbing of three young girls.
He shared, “This photo was taken yesterday. It shows British police officers dealing harshly with protesters in England. They beat them with batons and set dogs on them, as well as shoot tear gas at them. In Nigeria, the police offered water to protesters and urged them to go to safe areas to protest where they could protect them.
“Yet you are protesting and saying Nigeria is bad. How many times have the Nigerian police set dongs on you? Yes, things are hard. They are hard globally. However, Nigeria is not such a bad country. Much of what we get away with in Nigeria cannot be tolerated in Europe and America.”
