As the Government of Abia State plans to remodel the popular Ekeoha Shopping Centre and other markets in Aba, the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has been commended for the bold initiative, and for providing temporary shops for traders whose shops will be affected. This is in keeping his promise that traders whose shops will be affected will not suffer losses, as witnessed in the past. While giving glowing praises to the governor for the reconstruction of Ehi Road, Old Court Road, Kent Road and other roads in Aba, the traders expressed their joy that the remodeling of Ekeoha-Aba Shopping Centre will be yet another developmental milestone of the governor, and will improve trade and guarantee the safety of the traders and their customers.

The traders, who said they eagerly await to receive the Governor to the flag-off ceremony slated to be held on Thursday, 8th August, 2024, also expressed their confidence and trust in the governor that there will be total transparency in the reallocation of shops, as the Government of Abia State, under Governor Alex Otti, is known to be committed to the good of all.

It is also important to point out that the Government of Abia State has made it abundantly clear that it has no plan to demolish the entire Ekeoha Shopping Centre, as the remodeling will be done in phases, hence only a section of the market will be affected in this first phase of the demolition and remodeling.

Affected traders are advised to immediately visit the Market Committee Chairman’s office for allocation of temporary shops at the nextdoor GSM market which have been paid for by the developer.
