Hailing from Tarkwa in the Western Region, Philip was said to have been trying to buy gari outside the school premises when the incident occurred. Unfortunately, he landed on his neck, resulting in a severe sprain.

Wilfred Adodoadji, the District Director of Education, verified the details of the incident, which took place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
This day was designated as Heroes Day at the school, a yearly celebration to honor retirees and current members of the Ghana Education Service in the Ellembelle District.
The mother of the deceased visited the school with supplies for her son, but was unable to see him due to it not being a weekend. The provisions were later given to Philip by the school’s security after the event.

Despite this, Philip attempted to leave the school grounds at night by scaling the fence, leading to the fatal injury.
He was quickly taken to a clinic in Esiama before being transferred to St. Martin’s de Porres Hospital in Eikwe, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead. His body now rests at the Eikwe Hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy.READ FULL CONTENT
