In a viral video shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, the leader of the movement revealed that they have decided to leave the streets following the expiration of the 10-day scheduled protests. “Today is August 10, 2024. Earlier, we announced a 10-day ‘Rage to End Bad Governance’ in Nigeria. However, it is now evident that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not ready to listen to the demands of Nigerians,” the movement’s leader said in the video. The leader emphasized that today marks the final day of the 10-day protest, and the Take It Back Movement will be leaving the streets. However, he warned that they will return if the President fails to address the legitimate demands of the Nigerian people. “We are promising the Nigerian government and President Tinubu that we are coming back unless he looks into the demands of Nigerians. We will come back and this time, we will be more than this. We will be declaring a 10-Million-March across Nigeria,” the leader threatened.

The Take It Back Movement’s decision to suspend the protests, at least for now, comes after a 10-day nationwide campaign to pressure the government to address various issues affecting the country, including the economy, security, and governance.
