IRAN: ‘Someone May Be Assisting Iran’ — Dappa Says Missile Capacity Remains Intact

Former Naval Officer Commodore Promise Dappa has alleged that a major world power may be covertly supporting Iran in its ongoing conflict against the United States and Israel, pointing to the surprising resilience of Iran’s missile capabilities as evidence that outside help is at play.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Dappa said, “It seems someone somewhere is helping Iran. They are building resilience. Their capacity to launch missiles has not diminished — contrary to what we thought, that by now the capability to launch missiles would have been completely eliminated or sufficiently degraded. That has not quite happened. Iran has still shown quite considerable capacity to launch missiles across the Middle East at Israel, causing significant damage,” he said.

Dappa noted that suspicion is growing that Russia was supplying Iran with ballistic missiles and drones, and warned that if confirmed, the conflict could settle into a prolonged war of attrition similar to what unfolded in Ukraine.

He drew a direct comparison with Russia’s miscalculation in Ukraine, where what was expected to be a swift operation stretched into four years of grinding warfare once the NATO alliance factor came into play. He argued that if Iran continued to receive a sustained flow of weapons and maintained its launch capacity, the Middle East conflict could drag on far longer than anyone had initially anticipated.
