Chief Jumoke Ogunkeyede, a former member of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), has stated that the first time he saw Bola Tinubu crying was during a meeting of NADECO members in New York, USA

In an interview on the State Affairs show with Edmund Obilo, Chief Ogunkeyede said Anthony Enahoro made Tinubu the ambassador of NADECO in America and asked him to help resolve the internal crisis within the group.

Chief Ogunkeyede said Tinubu called for a meeting of NADECO members in a hotel in New York and many of them attended the meeting. He said Tinubu appealed to them to find a way to unite and stop the internal conflicts. He added that Tinubu became emotional and even cried there

In Chief Ogunkeyede’s words: “When Chief Enahoro made Tinubu the ambassador of NADECO in America I was the first to receive him and the hall was jam-packed. His assignment was to bring together, because there were rivalries, and so on and so forth. That was the first time I saw Bola Tinubu crying, he was so dejected that ‘Why would it be so difficult to bring our people together, please for God’s sake let us find a way’. He started to cry in a hotel that we facilitated in New York”
