Late Endwell was a former SUG President of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt. He was shot dead along Ula-upata Road Ahoada, Rivers State with reports linking his killing to the political crisis in the state.
Thegazellenews.com gathered that Endwell may have been murdered by a group of cultists loyal to one of the warring factions in the political crisis in the state.
He was shot dead along Ula-Pata,Ahoada town on the night of Tuesday, 18 June, 2024.
Endwell was to be a whistle blower against cultism and other violent crimes in Okporowo community in Ahoada East LGA and the suspected cultists capitalised on the political situation in the state to kill him.
Sources told thegazellenews.com that Endwell left the venue of protest against tenure elongation for council Chairmen opposite Ahoada East Council and boarded a motorcycle at about 7pm on Tuesday, 18 June, 2024.
The source disclosed that as the Motorbike was navigating along Ula-Pata road, three gunmen who had already laid ambush opened fire on Endwell who died instantly while the driver of the motor bike sustained gunshot injuries and has been rushed to hospital where he is receiving treatment.
As at 7am on Wednesday, 19 June, 2024, the corpse of Endwell was still at the scene of crime.
