FIJ had reported
on Wednesday how Omotola bought an Airtel router that came with a SIM card already registered with someone else’s details. An expected N20,000 worth of data which Airtel advertised would come with the SIM went to someone else too.
Omotola previously told FIJ that he explored various options to rectify the issue. He visited the Airtel office in Ikeja, but the staff was rude to him. The office redirected to the agent he purchased the router from.
The back-and-forth left Omotola with a SIM he couldn’t trust and without a solution.
Omotola sent FIJ a message on Friday that the Airtel agent who sold him the Airtel router, after seeing FIJ’s story, contacted him to visit their office on Monday so the irregularity could be rectified.
“I met with their representatives today. They apologised and were professional in their approach. I am indeed grateful,” Omotola said on Friday.
On Monday, Omotola told FIJ that he had visited the outlet, and the agent helped reconfigure the SIM card.
“I’ve visited the Airtel office today like we agreed on. It has been resolved finally. The SIM is working fine and no more issues. I’m satisfied.”
“They reconfigured the SIM and bundled it with the said data plan.
“I would like to let everyone know that it’s over and settled. It’s great to know that the power of the media is no child’s play and that justice is served,” Omotola said in an email to FIJ.
