The two children were kidnapped by a criminal in the Nepa community in Jos, Plateau State. The resident disclosed that he and other local residents armed with bamboo sticks, shovels, and other makeshift weapons, went to the building where the children were being held. The kidnapper attempted to flee but was quickly overpowered by the determined crowd. He said after they caught the kidnapper, they tied him up with a rope and then handed him over to the local vigilante group.
In his words: “I was among those who caught him. People approached the building armed with bamboo, shovels and other makeshift weapons. The kidnapper initially tried to escape but was quickly overpowered. After capturing him, we tied him up with a rope and took him to the vigilante office”….
