JUST IN: Senate President Akpabio, NSA Ribadu, Ministers Who Travelled To UK With Tinubu Line Up At Lagos Airport To Receive Him

The President arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and was received by senior government officials, including his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside members of his entourage and supporters who gathered at the airport.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after his two-day state visit to the United Kingdom, arriving in Lagos with the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, where he is expected to spend the Sallah break.

The President arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and was received by senior government officials, including his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside members of his entourage and supporters who gathered at the airport.

Tinubu’s trip to the UK, which began on March 17, was at the invitation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Tinubu was accompanied on the trip by several top government officials, including Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Idris Mohammed, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole.

Others were Minister of Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani; Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd); National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu; and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.

State governors, ministers, and other senior government officials also traveled to the UK as part of the entourage, queuing at the hotel where Tinubu stayed in London to welcome him upon his arrival.

Upon his return, members of the President’s entourage, including his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Senate President Akpabio, Finance Minister Edun, NSA Ribadu, and other top government officials who returned with him lined up at the Lagos airport to receive him as he disembarked.

The President and his wife were hosted at Windsor Castle between March 18 and 19, marking the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to Britain in 37 years and the first time a Nigerian president has been received at the historic royal residence.

During his visit, Tinubu held private talks with King Charles III, with discussions said to focus on strengthening long-standing bilateral ties between Nigeria and the UK, as well as cooperation in areas such as trade, migration, cultural exchange, and interfaith dialogue.

The royal hosts also showed the Nigerian President and his entourage a curated exhibition of artefacts from the Royal Collection linked to Nigeria. See More In Details…
