According to a report by the Daily Post on Monday, March 23, 2026, the Director General of the Abia State Strategic Communications Bureau, Onyebuchi Ememanka, has responded sharply to human rights activist Omoyele Sowore over the latter’s assessment of Governor Alex Otti’s performance.
Sowore had featured in a circulating video where he claimed that the transformation seen in Aba during a recent protest was only “half-transformation,” contradicting the full-scale development narrative promoted by members of the Labour Party.
In his reaction, Ememanka dismissed Sowore’s comments as a “cheap hatchet job,” arguing that the activist lacked the standing to evaluate the governor’s work after spending less than a day in the commercial city.
