“Casemiro they like and have talked about, but they have other targets too.

“The player they have pushed hardest for is Antony.

“However, Antony firmly believes he can still rescue his career at Old Trafford.”
Antony waiting on opportunities

Antony has not yet started a game for Manchester United this season. He has made just one brief substitute appearance away at Brighton, coming on in the 89th minute.

Amad has overtaken him in the pecking order, while Alejandro Garnacho started on the right against Liverpool.

Antony is awaiting an opportunity, where he will hope to be named as a starter in the team’s next Premier League fixture away at Southampton.

He has a chance, with Amad and Garnacho away on international duty. If not selected, then the Carabao Cup fixture with Barnsley should provide a chance.

United are now entering the phase of the season with two matches per-week, and rotation will play it’s part. Antony will get chances to show what he can do.

Antony has always expressed a desire to fight for his place at United and show his quality. That has to be admired. It’s a direct contrast to Jadon Sancho’s perceived lack of effort.
