Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Hassan Kukah, has urged the leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to come up with a way to reduce the current pump price of fuel. Recall that there has been an increment in the pump price of petrol to ₦855, ₦918 or higher depending on locations. He spoke on Friday in Abuja during the official unveiling of The Progressive Institute (TPI).
He said, “ We Nigerians are hungry. Find a way of reducing the price offuel .
“Unlessdemocracy is anchored on sound foundation, we will be building on sand. I amconcerned about the quality of democracy in Nigeria. We need to fix the problem with democracy in Nigeria.”
APC leaders at the event, which is ongoing at the Abuja Continental Hotel, are the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio represented by the deputy Senate president, Senator Barau I. Jibrin; and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
Others are the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma; Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; ministers; APC state Chairmen; and many others.
