President Bola Tinubu has commended Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago for his decision in making women become Vice Chairpersons of all the 25 Local Government Councils in the State.
The President gave the commendation during his address at the 15th National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
Farmer Governor Bago was among the APC Governors and party stakeholders in attendance for the crucial meeting.
President Tinubu who described the farmer governor’s decision as highly commendable called on others to emulate him by giving women the opportunity to be part of governance.
The President also emphasised the need for APC members to continue to be resolute in ensuring that democracy continue to grow from strength to strength in the Country and called on party members to remain courageous, resilient, and be accomodating
The President also reiterated his stand for the establishment of State Police and called on National Assembly members to summon the Inspector General of Police and look at the ramifications of instituting control and prevent abuses while also stressing on the creation of forest green guards to help in fighting terrorist and banditry activities.
Vice President Kashim Shettina, Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Speaker, House of representatives, Rt.Hon.Tajudeen Abbas in their separate remarks commended the critical role President Bola Tinubu played in fighting for the survival of democracy in Nigeria and for his tremendous efforts in reshaping Nigeria through his reforms.
They all acknowledged his leadership qualities and his dedication to democratic principles and reassured him of their continued support in his quest of transforming Nigeria.
APC National Executive Committee is the party’s highest decision-making organ between conventions that brings together the President, Vice President, national chairman, members of the National Working Committee, governors, and other key stakeholders to take decisions on party administration, policy direction and preparations for future elections.
